Kevin W. Fergusson, MD, MSHA
Founder and Editor of The DrPEN® Directory
Dr. Fergusson graduated cum laude from the University of Virginia with a degree in Mathematics before attending the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine on the Medical College of Virginia campus. He is an active member of the American College of Physician Executives, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Practice, the Virginia Medical Society, and the Richmond Academy of Medicine.

After becoming board certified in Family Medicine he went into private practice in his home town of Richmond, Virginia. As an ardent patient advocate he became concerned over the changing healthcare system in the United States and the effect these changes were having on the patient-physician relationship. While still practicing medicine full-time he returned to school and in 1995 graduated with a Master of Science in Health Administration.

In 2000, he founded DrPEN, Inc. (The Doctors' Patient Education Network) which publishes The DrPENŽ Directory, a guide to finding high quality, professional patient education information on the Internet. The Directory helps physicians improve their patients' overall understanding of their health problems and helps strengthen the patient-physician relationship.

Dr. Fergusson is an adjunct professor in the Department of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University on the Medical College of Virginia Campus. He is the author of "The Living Ancestor," which teaches patients how the relationships with their health professionals influence health and longevity.
